removetheplugfromthepowersocket

beforecleaningthematorworkingon

theaquarium,topreventdangerof

Thematsareconnectedbymeansofthe

plugdirecttothe230Vpowersupply,and

atanambienttemperatureof20°C,and

withoutacover,reachamaximumsurface

temperatureofapprox.42°C.

Theheatingofthematdependshowever

ontheundersurface,theambient

temperatureandtheamountofsubstrateto

beheated(sand,mulch,wateretc.)and

cantakefromseveralhourstodays.

Whenusedwithouttemperaturelimitation,

takecaretooftheavoidoverheating

styropor,woodshavings,othersubstrate

material).Thiscouldleadtoabuild-upof

heat,anddamagetotheterrariumor

Thematshouldbeplacedunderthe

terrariumsoasnottocoverthewholeof

theterrariumarea,sothatthereptilesare

alsoleftwithcoolerareas.Inordertoavoid

heatloss,theThermoLuxheatingmat

shouldbeplacedonasheetofstyropor.

Toavoiddamagingtheterrariumbaseby

thermalandmechanicalstresses,donot

placetheterrariumdirectlyonthemat.

Spacers(e.g.woodenslats)shouldbelaid

alongthewholelengthoftheterrarium

basebetweenthematandtheterrarium

base,leavingandistanceofabout12mm

betweenthematandtheterrarium.This

willensureanevendistributionofheat.

Checkthetemperaturechangeatthe

surfaceoftheoorsubstrateusinga

thermometer,andadjusttheseparating

distancetoachievetherequired

temperature.Ensurethatthehumidityis

sucienttopreventtheanimalssuffering

fromdesiccation.

Useasanunderlayforplants

Placethematonawindowsillordirectina

hydro-culturevesselorseedingtray.Water

regularlyinordertoavoidabuild-upofheat

andthedrying-outofthesubstrate(earth,

hydro-culture).Thetemperatureofthesoil

dependsonthevolumeofthevessel/tray

andthesurroundingtemperature.

TheThermoLuxTemperatureRegulator

canbeusedforcontrollingthetemperature.

Thetemperaturewillthenautomaticallybe

maintainedwithintherequiredrange.The

temperatureregulationisonlysuciently

accuratewithinthedampsubstrate.
