Firmware Upgrades
The Firmware Upgrade switch is used to upgrade the VE816R from a
computer connected via the RS-232 port.
To upgrade the VE816R,
1. Download the fi rmware upgrade package from our website.
2. Connect a computer to the VE816R’s RS-232 port.
3. Power on the VE816R and turn the F/W Mode switch to ON.
4. Reset the VE816R 's power to enter fi rmware upgrade mode. The
HDMI Out LED blinks orange every second to indicate the device is
in F/W upgrade mode.
5. At this point you can run the fi rmware upgrade package on the
computer connected to the VE816R.
6. After the fi rmware upgrade process is completed, switch the
VE816R off, put the F/W Mode to OFF and power the VE816R back
on again.

Hardware Installation
1 Connect the HDMI Output Port on the VE816R to the HDMI Input
port on your video display using an HDMI cable.
2 Connect one end of a Cat 5e/6 cable to the HDBaseT Output port
on the I/O board (VM8514). Then connect the other end of the Cat
5e/6 cable to the HDBaseT Input port on the VE816R.
3 Plug the power adapter cable into the power jack on the VE816R.
4 (Optional) Connect your computer or control system to the RS-232
terminal blocks on the VE816R.
5 (Optional) Connect an IR Transmitter/Receiver cable to the IR port
on the VE816R.
Operation
LED Display
LED Indication
Power (Green) Lights to indicate that the system is receiving
power.
Link (Orange) Lights to indicate that the connection between the
VE816R and output board is established.
HDMI Out
(Orange)
• Lights to indicate that HDMI Output port signal is
good.
• Blinks every second to indicate that the device is
in F/W upgrade mode.

Mises à niveau du fi rmware
Le commutateur de mise à niveau du fi rmware sert à mettre à niveau
le VE816R depuis un ordinateur connecté via le port RS-232.
Pour mettre à niveau le VE816R,
1. Téléchargez le paquetage de mise à niveau du fi rmware depuis
notre site Web.
2. Connectez un ordinateur au port RS-232 du VE816R.
3. Mettez le VE816R sous tension et passez le commutateur de mode
du fi rmware sur Activé.
4. Réinitialisez l'alimentation du VE816R pour accéder au mode de
mise à niveau du fi rmware. La LED de sortie HDMI clignote en
orange toutes les secondes pour indiquer que l'appareil est en
mode de mise à niveau du fi rmware.
5. À ce stade, vous pouvez exécuter le paquetage de mise à niveau du
fi rmware sur l'ordinateur connecté au VE816R.
6. Une fois le processus de mise à niveau du fi rmware terminé,
éteignez le VE816R, passez le mode du fi rmware sur Désactivé et
remettez le VE816R sous tension.

Installation du matériel
1 Raccordez le port de sortie HDMI du VE816R au port d’entrée
HDMI sur votre affi chage vidéo à l’aide d'un câble HDMI.
2 Branchez l'extrémité d'un câble Cat 5e/6 sur le port de sortie
HDBaseT de la carte d'E/S (VM8514). Branchez ensuite l’autre
extrémité du câble Cat 5e/6 sur le port d’entrée HDBaseT du
VE816R.
3 Branchez le câble de l'adaptateur secteur dans la prise
d'alimentation du VE816R.
4 (Optionnel) Raccordez votre ordinateur ou votre système de
contrôle aux borniers RS-232 du VE816R.
5 (Optionnel) Raccordez un câble émetteur/récepteur IR au port IR du
VE816R.

Firmware-Aktualisierungen
Der Firmware-Aktualisierungsschalter dient der Aktualisierung
des VE816R über einen mit dem RS-232-Anschluss verbundenen
Computer.
So aktualisieren Sie den VE816R:
1. Laden Sie das Firmware-Aktualisierungspaket von unserer Webseite
herunter.
2. Verbinden Sie einen Computer mit dem RS-232-Anschluss des
VE816R.
3. Schalten Sie den VE816R ein und aktivieren Sie den F/W-Modus-
Schalter.
4. Starten Sie den VE816R zum Aufrufen des Firmware-
Aktualisierungsmodus neu. Die HDMI-Ausgang-LED blinkt
sekündlich orange und zeigt dadurch an, dass sich das Gerät im F/
W-Aktualisierungsmodus befi ndet.
5. Zu diesem Zeitpunkt können Sie das Firmware-Aktualisierungspaket
auf dem mit dem VE816R verbundenen Computer ausführen.
6. Nach Abschluss der Firmware-Aktualisierung schalten Sie den
VE816R aus, deaktivieren Sie den F/W-Modus und schalten Sie den
VE816R wieder ein.

Hardwareinstallation
1 Verbinden Sie den HDMI-Ausgang am VE816R per HDMI-Kabel mit
dem HDMI-Eingang an Ihrem Videoanzeigegerät.
2 Verbinden Sie ein Ende eines Cat-5e/6-Kabels mit dem HDBaseT-
Ausgang an der I/O-Platine (VM8514). Schließen Sie dann das
andere Ende des Cat-5e/6-Kabels an den HDBaseT-Eingang am
VE816R an.
3 Schließen Sie das Netzteilkabel an den Netzanschluss am VE816R
an.
4 (Optional) Verbinden Sie Ihren Computer oder Ihr Steuerungssystem
mit den RS-232-Anschlussblöcken am VE816R.
5 (Optional) Verbinden Sie ein IR-Sender- / -Empfängerkabel mit dem
IR-Anschluss am VE816R.

Strom versorgt wird.
Verbindung

• Zeigt durch Aufl euchten an, dass das Signal des
HDMI-Ausgangs gut ist.
• Zeigt durch sekündliches Blinken, dass sich das
Gerät im F/W-Aktualisierungsmodus befi ndet.

Actualizaciones de fi rmware
El conmutador de actualización de fi rmware se utiliza para actualizar
el receptor VE816R desde un equipo conectado a través del puerto
RS-232.
Para actualizar el receptor VE816R,
1. Descargue el paquete de actualización de fi rmware de nuestro sitio
web.
2. Conecte un equipo al puerto RS-232 del receptor VE816R.
3. Encienda el receptor VE816R y coloque el conmutador de modo de
fi rmware en la posición de encendido.
4. Restablezca la alimentación del receptor VE816R para entrar en
el modo de actualización de fi rmware. El LED de salida HDMI
parpadeará en naranja una vez por segundo para indicar que el
dispositivo se encuentra en el modo de actualización de fi rmware.
5. Este momento, puede ejecutar el paquete de actualización de
fi rmware en el equipo conectado al receptor VE816R.
6. Una vez completado el proceso de actualización de fi rmware,
apague el receptor VE816R, coloque el conmutador de modo de

Instalación del hardware
1 Conecte el puerto Salida HDMI del receptor VE816R al puerto
Entrada HDMI de la pantalla de vídeo mediante un cable HDMI.
2 Conecte un extremo de un cable Cat 5e/6 al puerto Salida HDBaseT
de la tarjeta de E/S (VM8514). A continuación, conecte el otro
extremo del cable Cat 5e/6 al puerto Entrada HDBaseT del receptor
VE816R.
3 Enchufe el cable del adaptador de alimentación en el conector de
alimentación del VE816R.
4 (Opcional) Conecte su PC o sistema de control al bloque de

Aggiornamenti del fi rmware
L'interruttore di aggiornamento fi rmware viene utilizzato per
aggiornare il VE816R da un computer collegato tramite porta RS-232.
Per aggiornare il VE816R,
1. Scaricare il pacchetto di aggiornamento del fi rmware dal nostro sito
web.
2. Collegare un computer alla porta RS-232 del VE816R.
3. Accendere il VE816R e portare l'interruttore Modalità F/W su ON.
4. Ripristinare l'alimentazione del VE816R per accedere alla modalità
di aggiornamento fi rmware. IL LED HDMI Out (Uscita HDMI)
lampeggia in arancione ogni secondo per indicare che il dispositivo
è in modalità di aggiornamento F/W.
5. A questo punto, è possibile eseguire il pacchetto di aggiornamento
fi rmware sul computer collegato al VE816R.
6. Al termine della procedura di aggiornamento fi rmware, spegnere il
VE816R, portare Modalità F/W su OFF e riaccendere il VE816R.
