STEP 1 -- MATCH & CONNECT WIRES

IMPORTANT
Before starting, compare items on your invoice with items
received. Thoroughly check packing materials. If an item
is missing, please call Crutchfield at 1-888-955-6000.

Match wires below to the matching function of each wire on
your receiver (refer to instructions supplied with receiver).
The wire colors of your new receiver may, or may not,
match the wire colors of the adaptor. Match adaptor and
receiver wires by function, disregarding color.
Your receiver illumination wire could be Orange or
Orange/White. As with other wires, match this wire to the
illumination wire in this harness by function, not by color.
If your receiver does not have an illumination wire, tape off
the illumination wire.
Individually tape off any unused wires.
Route harnesses, bypass amplifier and make final wiring
connections following instructions on pages 2 & 3.

Gray - Right Front Speaker Positive
Gray/Black - Right Front Speaker Negative
White/Black - Left Front Speaker Negative
Violet/Black - Right Rear Speaker Negative
Green/Black - Left Rear Speaker Negative
This wire is only used in 1995-'97 Ford Explorers and
Mercury Mountaineers that are factory-equipped
with the JBL system. It connects to the power
antenna lead on the new receiver. All other vehicles
use the Blue Wire on the Power harness.

STEP 2 -- HARNESS ROUTING
Receiver Adaptor/Amplifier Bypass
A. Run the speaker harness wires
from the receiver to the factory
amplifier location. (Refer to the
Crutchfield MasterSheet for
your particular vehicle to locate
and access the amplifier).
B. Disconnect both factory
harnesses from the amplifier.
C. Plug the speaker harness into
the factory harness disconnected
from the amplifier output.
D. Tape off and secure the unused
harness.

A. Strip wires back 1/2”.
B. Twist wires together and
insert in crimp cap.
C. Squeeze middle of cap
for tight connection.

the Wiring Adaptor that are
not necessary (wires with no
match from the new receiver)
with electrical tape.

A. When ready to install the
receiver, plug the wiring
Adaptor from the new receiver,
or receiver assembly into the
factory radio harness(es) in the
vehicle dash.
