32-8625 NARCOTIC GAS ALARM MANUAL
The gas alarm requires 2-3 minutes to warm up whenever it is powered up. During this period
the gas alarm may not respond (no alarm) to gas or a push-button test.
PLACEMENT
We recommend you to install the narcotic gas alarm close to where you sleep, or suspect the
gas to be dispersed from since most narcotic gases generally mixes well with air. This detec-
tor has been designed to detect primarily narcotic gas (Diethyl Ether etc.), which provokes
sleepiness and incapability to react as it inhibits some cerebral functions. The detection is
very sensitive and in many cases it also senses LP Gas, propellants, ammable gases, strong
smoke, perfume etc. Please note that this alarm does not sense the presence of carbon monox-
ide (CO gas).
INSTALLATION
This gas alarm is design for easy and exible installation and comes complete with screws,
mounting bracket and cable/adaptor. Attach the mounting bracket to wall with the screws
provided then twist and lock the alarm into place (clockwise). Now plug alarm into a 12VDC
cigarette lighter receptacle using provided car adaptor or use the provided cable for a more
permanent installation. When the alarm is properly installed, green LED indicates the alarm
is receiving sufcient power and red LED ashes once per minute indicating proper opera-
tion. Wait for 2-3 minutes, then push and hold the test button for 5-10 seconds. If the alarm is
activated the unit is now ready to detect and protect.

TESTING AND MAINTENANCE
Test alarm by using the test button at least once a week and always after long absences. Check
that the green light diode is active, indicating sufcient current supply. Also check that the
red light diode ashes every 40 seconds. Then press and hold the test button until the alarm
sounds. A simple condence check can be conducted by using a small disposable cigarette
lighter and pressing the lever normally used to maintain the ame without lighting it. If this is
then held close to the alarm, the red LED light will come on and the alarm will sound. Make
sure to air out the room after testing.
Vacuum unit regularly and use a cloth
to wipe the outside of the alarm. When
used in for example boats, caravans,
mobile homes etc. we recommend that
you store the gas alarm in normal room
temperature during the winter season,
this prolongs its life expectancy. A gas
alarm should be replaced after around 5
years, because the gas sensor thereafter
gradually changes sensitivity.
GAS SAFETY - GENERAL ADVICE
If alarm sounds, open all windows and doors to allow the gas to disperse. Don’t switch on/
off lighting, exhausting fan or any kind of electrical appliance to avoid explosion. Check all
the gas appliances, extinguish any open ames including cigarettes and turn off the gas supply
and check hose connectors and pipes for leakages. It’s crucial that the source(s) of the leak
is determined and appropriate repairs are made. Contact the supplier of the gas equipment or
the re brigade if the problem is not located. In case of immediate danger, always call the re
brigade from outside the building.
When leaving the room where the gas is used, always turn off any equipment and the gas •
supply.
Do not make any changes in the gas installation without proper knowledge.•
Let a specialist inspect your gas installations regularly.•
Avoid sleeping in direct proximity to the gas installations. •

guarantee is limited to replacement of the product, repair of the product or replacement of the
product with repaired product at the discretion of the manufacturer.
We shall be under no obligation to repair, replace or refund units which are found to be
defective in any way due to unreasonable use or neglect, been tampered with, and modied or
subject to attempted repairs or exposed to extreme temperatures.
