Safety

4.1Safety instructions

–

The device can be used under the stated operating conditions in zone 2, explo-

sive gas atmospheres, and in zone 22, explosive dust atmospheres.

–

Prevent short circuit or interruption resulting from bending the connecting

cable too tightly.

–All work must be carried out outside of potentially explosive areas.

–

Work on the product may only be carried out by qualified personnel who can

evaluate the work and detect dangers.

–

Use the device in its original status, without any unauthorised modifications.

4.2Intended use

The solenoid coil is an actuator for Festo valves.

4.3

–Do not disconnect or open when powered.

Use an additional strain relief before the plug connector.

–Protect the device from mechanical impact.

Function

When switching on the voltage, the solenoid is energised, and the valve is actu-

ated.

WARNING

The discharge of electrostatically charged parts can lead to ignitable sparks.

•Prevent electrostatic charging by taking appropriate installation and cleaning

measures.

Include the device in the system equipotential bonding.

Maintenance and care

WARNING

The discharge of electrostatically charged parts can lead to ignitable sparks.

If used in group IIC:

•Only clean the device with a damp cloth.

–Repairs to the solenoid coil are not permitted.

The device is maintenance-free.
