Compete against other players to pick the perfect
flowers for your customers. On your turn, choose
a “customer” (die) from a pool of colored dice.
Then, circle the matching colored flowers on
your sheet. But beware! Your customers are picky
and only want bouquets of their particular color.
The game ends either when a player has circled
all the flowers in three different colors or when
someone completes four garden beds. Whoever
scores the most points wins.
COMPONENTS
75 double-sided sheets
6 dice
GAME SETUP
1. Give each player a random sheet (A, B, C, D,
or E, as marked in the bottom right corner
along with a pen or pencil.
2. Place the 6 dice in the center of the playing
    area.
HOW TO PLAY
Bloom is played over several rounds. The player
who last was given a flower starts the first round
and play continues to the left. A round proceeds
in the following order:
    A. Roll the 6 dice.
    B. Choose customers & make bouquets.
    C. End of a round.
A. ROLL THE 6 DICE
At the beginning of a round, the start player
rolls all 6 dice to create a shared pool of dice.
These are the customers.
B. CHOOSE CUSTOMERS & MAKE BOUQUETS
Starting with the start player, take turns
choosing 1 die from the common pool of dice.
Then each player circles the exact number of
flowers equal to the value of their chosen die.
You may circle a smaller number of flowers,
but this will result in unhappy customers (see
Unhappy Customers).
Notes:
•
You may only circle horizontally or vertically
  adjacent flowers.
•You may circle flowers across adjacent garden
Example:
Julie is the starting player. She chooses and
circles 4 orange flowers. No one else is allowed to
choose this round.
WILD DIE
When you choose the clear die you decide the
color of the customer.
Example:
George takes and decides it is a pink customer.
He circles 4 pink flowers.
WHITE FLOWERS
White flowers may be considered as any color.
Example:
William chooses and circles 4 blue flowers and 1
white flower.
UNHAPPY CUSTOMERS
A customer is unhappy if you circle either:
• Flowers in a different color than your chosen die.
• A smaller number of flowers than your die value.
Add a tick mark in the unhappy customer section
on your sheet for each unwanted or missing flower.
Each tic mark is worth -1 point.
Example:
Julie chooses and circles 3 yellow flowers and 1
purple flower. She must now add 3 tick marks to the
unhappy customer section; 1 for the purple and 2
for the missing flowers.
BOUQUET!
If you circle all flowers of a color, shout “Bouquet!”
and circle the highest available number of the
matching color in the scoring section. All other
players cross off this number.
Example:
William circled all of the orange flowers on his
sheet and circles the orange 6 in the colored flower
scoring section. All other players cross off the
Orange 6. Now, the orange 4 is the next available
number to score.
GARDEN BEDS
The flowers are divided into six garden beds on
every sheet. Once you circle all 12 flowers in a
garden bed, you may circle the first available
number in the “garden beds” scoring section. The
more garden beds you score, the more the next
one is worth.
Example:
Lisa circled all 12 flowers in one of her garden
beds. She already circled one garden bed, so now
she circles the next number (4) in the garden bed
scoring section. She now has 7 points for garden
beds.
RE-ROLL
Once per game, you may re-roll
all remaining dice available to you
when it’s your turn to choose a die.
(You may do this even if you aren’t
the start player.) Once you use the
power, cross off the re-roll icon on
your scoresheet.
Note: Any unused re-roll is worth 1
point at the end of the game.
C. END OF A ROUND
A round ends when all players have taken a die
and circled flowers. Collect all 6 dice and give
them to the next player (clockwise). The next round
begins just as the previous, starting with phase A -
roll the 6 dice.
Note:
In a 2-player game, a round continues until both
players have taken 2 dice.
END OF THE GAME
Continue playing rounds until
either
 one player
has circled three numbers in the color section
or
one player has circled the fourth number in
the garden bed section. Finish the round so that
all players have had the same number of turns,
then each player enters their total score in their
scoring section as follows:
• Score the points for all circled numbers in the
   color section.
• Score the points for all circled numbers in the
   garden bed section.
• Score 1 point if you did not use your re-roll
   power.
• Subtract 1 point for each tick mark in the
   unhappy customer section.
Total up all scores and whoever has the most
points wins. In case of a tie, the player with the
smallest number of unhappy customers wins.
If there is still a tie, play again!
SOLO PLAY
In a solo game you try to improve (or match)
your high score. The game rules of the basic
game apply, except for the following changes:
• You only play with the 5 colored dice.
• The highest available number for each color is
   4 points.
• A round continues until you have taken 2 dice.
• Try to score as many points as possible in 8
rounds. Use the tracker at the bottom of your
   sheet to keep count.
A WORD FROM GAMEWRIGHT
If you haven’t already noticed, we’re big fans
of “roll and write” games. From Qwixx, to Rolling
America, Qwingo, and now Bloom, the simple
combination of dice and score pads makes for
a wonderful “take anywhere - play anywhere”
experience. Inventor Wouter van Strien created
this clever game which is part spatial puzzle,
part visual planning challenge. With five
different scoresheet layouts, you’ll have lots of
opportunities to try a variety of flower picking
skills!
