 PREPARATION FOR USE
1. Location of Controls and Indicators
 OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
1. Power On / Auto-Linking Mode
2. Power Off
To shut the power ‘Off’ at any time PRESS and HOLD the Multi-Function Button (MFB) on
the control dongle for approximately 2 seconds. You will hear four descending beep
tones, the red LED flashes once and then the power shuts off.
5. Using Your iHome Bluetooth Ear buds
The chart on Page 3 explains the basic functions and operations of your Bluetooth ear
buds.
3. Manually Pairing Your iHome Ear buds With Your Bluetooth Device
NOTE: Your ear buds must be ‘Off’’ to begin the manual pairing process.
With the ear buds in the ‘Off’ mode, PRESS and HOLD the Multi-Function Button (MFB)
on the control dongle for approximately 4 seconds until you see the LED indicator
alternately flashing blue and red. Release the Multi-Function Button (MFB)
Make sure that your Bluetooth device is turned ‘On’ and in the Pairing mode. Refer to the
instructions supplied with your device if necessary. When your device “finds” the iB80
ear buds, you will see “iHome iB80” appear on your devices Bluetooth menu screen
together with the words “Not Paired”, “Not Connected” or similar. Touch “iHome iB80” to
complete the pairing process. You will hear a single beep, and you will see “iHome iB80
Connected” on your devices Bluetooth menu. NOTE: If your Bluetooth device asks for a
Password or a PIN to complete the pairing process, enter “0000” on the keypad of your
device.
You are now ready to begin streaming music wirelessly from your Bluetooth device to
your iHome iB80 Bluetooth ear buds.
PRESS and HOLD the Multi-Function Button (MFB) on the right ear-piece for
approximately 2 seconds until you hear the four ascending beep tones that indicate the
power is ‘On’. The blue LED begins flashing slowly indicating that your ear buds are in
the Auto-Linking Mode and trying to re-link to a previously paired device as long as that
device is within the normal pairing range of approximately 33-feet. If your ear buds do
not find a previously paired device that is in range and turned ‘on’ within 3 minutes they
will switch from the Auto-Linking mode to the Power ‘Off’ mode to extend the battery
life.
2. Charging Your Ear buds
Your ear buds are powered by a rechargeable lithium-ion battery. Although the battery
was fully charged when the ear buds left our factory, like all batteries it can lose power
even during periods of non-use. We recommend that you charge the ear buds for 3
hours before first use to make sure the battery is fully charged before you start using
your ear buds.
To charge the battery, open the water resistant cover and connect the smaller plug on
the supplied USB charging cable to the USB charging port on
the ear buds. Refer to the illustration. Please note that the
plug can only be inserted into the charging port one way. To
avoid damaging the charging port make sure that you are
inserting the plug correctly. Connect the larger plug of the
supplied USB charging cable to a USB/AC adapter (not
included) or to the powered USB port on a laptop or personal
computer.
The LED indicator will glow red when your ear buds are
charging and will turn ‘Off’ when your ear buds are fully
charged.
Note: Noise isolation ear buds such as the iB80 are designed to block background
sounds so that you can enjoy your music without extraneous noise. You should not use
noise isolation ear buds like the iB80 in situations that require you to hear and be aware
of warning sounds.
Note: In extremely cold weather you might feel a slight tingling sensation in your ears
when wearing noise isolation ear buds. This is caused by a build-up of static electricity
in your body and not an indication of any problem with your ear buds.
3. Wearing Your Ear Buds
The two ear-pieces are marked ‘L’ and ‘R’. When worn properly the neckband will be
positioned behind your neck and the controls will be on your right side.
The ‘M’ size tips were installed on the ear buds at our factory. If
you wish to change to either the ‘S’ or ‘L’ size tips, simply pull
the ‘M’ size tips off the ear-pieces and push the ‘S’ or ‘L’ size tips
on to the tubes, making sure that they are firmly seated on
the tubes so that the tips do not come off when you remove
the ear-pieces from your ears. Refer to illustration.
