speakers were designed.

Record the serial number, found on the back of the unit, in
the spaces designated on the warranty card, and in the
space provided below.
Refer to these model and serial numbers whenever you call
upon your KENWOOD dealer for information or service on
this product.

Introduction
1. Suffocation - After taking the unit out of the polyethylene
bag, be sure to dispose of the polyethylene bag out of
the reach of children. Otherwise, they may play with the
bag, which could cause hazard of suffocation.
2. Water and moisture - Do not place a liquid container,
such as a vase and water basin, on the appliance. Also
avoid installing the unit in a place subject to dampness.
3. Heat - Do not install the unit near a source of heat, such
as radiators, or under direct sunlight.
4. Modification - Do not attempt to open or modify the
unit, for this could cause fire hazard or malfunction.
5. Cleaning - Do not use volatile solvents such as alcohol,
paint thinner, gasoline, or benzine, etc. to clean the
cabinet. Use a clean dry cloth.
6. Abnormal smell - If an abnormal smell or smoke is
detected, immediately turn the power OFF and unplug
the appliance from the wall outlet. Contact your dealer or
nearest service center.

1. Etouffement – Après avoir retiré l’appareil du sac de
polyéthylène, bien placer ce dernier hors de la portée
des enfants. S’ils jouent avec ce sac, un risque
d’étouffement est possible.
2. Eau et humidité – Ne pas poser un récipient contenant
de l’eau (vase, cuvette, etc.) sur cet appareil. Eviter
également d’installer l’appareil dans un endroit exposé
à l’humidité.
3. Chaleur – Ne pas installer cet appareil à proximité d’une
source de chaleur comme un appareil de chauffage ou à
un endroit directement exposé au soleil.
4. Modificatiòn – Ne pas tenter d’ouvrir l’appareil, ni de le
modifier car cela pourrait être à l’origine d’un incendie ou
d’une anomalie de fonctionnement.
5. Nettoyage – Ne pas utiliser de solvants volatiles tels
que de l’alcool, du diluant à peinture, de l’essence ou de
la benzine, etc., pour nettoyer le coffret. Utiliser un
chiffon propre et sec.
6. Odeur anormale – Si une odeur anormale ou une fumée
sort de l’appareil, couper immédiatement l’alimentation
et débrancher le cordon d’alimentation. Contacter votre
concessionnaire ou le centre de service le plus proche.

Connections
÷Ne court-circuitez jamais les câbles d’enceinte + et –.
÷Si les enceintes gauche et droite sont raccordées à
l’inverse ou si les câbles des enceintes sont raccordés
avec une polarité inversée, le son n’est pas naturel et
a une image acoustique ambiguë. Assurez-vous de
connecter correctement les enceintes et les câbles de
enceintes.
Remarque sur la connexion
1. Assurez-vous que l’amplificateur est arrêté avant de
brancher ou de débrancher les enceintes.
2. Ce système d’enceinte a une impédance nominale
de 6 ohms. Pour entraîner ces enceintes de manière
satisfaisante et en toute sécurité, utilisez un
amplificateur qui peut être raccordé à des enceintes
ayant une impédance de charge de 6 ohms.
Branchements
÷Never short-circuit the + and - speaker cords.
÷If the left and right speakers are connected inversely
or if the speaker cords are connected with reversed
polarity, the sound becomes unnatural with ambigu-
ous acoustic image positioning. Be sure to connect
the speakers and speaker cords correctly.
Note on connection
1. Be sure to turn off your amplifier before connecting
or disconnecting speakers.
2. This speaker system has a nominal impedance of 6
ohms. To drive these speakers satisfactorily and
safely, use an amplifier which can be connected to
the speakers having a load impedance of 6 ohms.
Prevention of speaker magnetism and opera-
tion near TV
The speakers are usable at a short distance from a TV set,
but color irregularities may sometimes occur depending on
their proximity. However, such color irregularities can be
reduced by making use of the self-demagnetization func-
tion of the TV set. To utilize this function, install the
speakers with the following procedure.
1Set the main power switch of the TV to OFF before
installing the speakers.
2Do not set the main power switch of the TV to ON in less
than 30 minutes after the speaker installation.
If the color irregularities still occur, move the speaker
farther away from the TV.
Prévention du magnétisme des enceintes et du
fonctionnement près d’un téléviseur
Les enceintes peuvent être utilisées à proximité d’un
téléviseur mais des couleurs irrégulières peuvent parfois
apparaître sur l’écran du téléviseur en fonction de sa
proximité. De telles couleurs irrégulières peuvent être
éliminées en utilisant la fonction d’auto-démagnétisation
du téléviseur. Pour utiliser cette fonction, installez les
enceintes en suivant la procédure suivante.
1Mettez le téléviseur hors tension avant d’installer les
enceintes.
2Attendez plus de 30 minutes avant de remettre le
téléviseur sous tension après l’installation des enceintes.
Si des couleurs irrégulières se produisent toujours, éloignez
les enceintes du téléviseur.
Note on operation
The power-handling capacity of this speaker system
is indicated in the specifications. Do not operate the
speaker with power exceeding this limitation, as it
may damage the speaker.
Remarque sur le fonctionnement
La capacité de traitement de puissance de ce système
d‘enceintes est indiquée dans les caractéristiques
techniques. Ne faites pas fonctionner les enceintes
avec une puissance dépassant cette limite car ceci
risque de les endommager.
