VALENCIA MASONRY BARBECUE. Model 0 4 4 9.
ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS.
Note: Keep the assembly and instruction leaflet and parts view drawing in a
safe place. They may be required with your receipt for your guarantee and in
case you wish to identify and order spare parts.
Parts List:

PLEASE READ THESE INSTRUCTIONS CAREFULLY BEFORE BUILDING
Note: It is recommended that two people build this barbecue due to the weight
of some parts.
Step One:
Build or select a solid, level concrete base large enough to place the barbecue.
This should be in a safe and secure location, away from any combustible
materials.
Step Two:
Prepare a weak mortar mix with four parts sand and one part cement. Do not
use cement with glues with high heat resistance or quick setting cements, white
cement, aluminium cement or floor tile cement. These materials do not allow
expansion of the barbecue components and cause cracking.
Step Three:
Assemble the parts as shown in the parts list using a thin layer of mortar mix
between each section of the barbecue. Ensure each part is secure, level and
the mortar is beginning to harden before proceeding to the next step. When
finished, allow the barbecue to dry completely. Wait a few days for the mortar
to fully harden before using the barbecue.
Step Four:
When the mortar is dry, paint the external surface of all parts, except the
charcoal plate. It is recommended to use exterior, textured masonry paint and
that two coats are applied to protect the barbecue against the outdoor elements.
Allow 24 hours after painting so the masonry paint can fully dry.
WARNING:
This barbecue is for outdoor use only, do not assemble or use indoors.
Cracks may appear on the Charcoal Plate, Surround and Hood of the barbecue
due to the heat expansion of the materials. This should not affect the
performance or safety of the barbecue.
MAINTENANCE:
Cover the barbecue during winter months, to help protect from low
temperatures.
It is advisable to repaint the barbecue once a year.
LIGHTING INSTRUCTIONS
1. Place a layer of Charcoal (lump wood or briquettes) on the grate and
build it into a pyramid shaped pile.
2. Light, using fire lighters, following the instructions on the pack. Only use
firelighters that comply with the European Standard for Firelighters
(EN 1860-3).
3. The barbecue will be ready for use in about 30 – 40 minutes when all
flames and smoke have died down and the charcoal is covered by an
even layer of grey ash.
At this point, spread the charcoal evenly across the grate. Add more
charcoal if required.
Grease the cooking grill to prevent food sticking.
