Wind Gauge for Netatmo Weather Staon
What is the addional Wind Gauge module?
You can add an addional Wind Gauge module to your Netatmo Weather Staon. It does not work
separately and needs the Netatmo Staon to operate.
It allows you to monitor wind speed and direcon.
You can add only one Wind Gauge module to your Netatmo Weather Staon.

Setup and precauon
Important:
- Do not twist the Wind Gauge.
- Do not touch the sensors.
Setup from smartphone / PC
To add an addional Wind Gauge module to the staon, follow the instrucons on its quick start
guide, or click on "Add/Remove a module" in the sengs menu, under "My staons". The app will
guide you through the installaon.
1. You need to launch the module Manager from the smartphone/tablet app or your PC.
o If you are using a PC, connect the staon to the PC with the USB cable.
o If you are using your smartphone, touch the top of the staon’s main module unl it
blinks blue, the staon is now in Bluetooth mode so it can be congured from your
phone.
2. Select the opon New Wind Gauge . “ ”
3. Remove the baeries from the Wind Gauge and reinsert them. You need to unscrew the four
screws at the boom base to access the baeries compartment.
4. Once the baeries are reinserted, place the Wind Gauge next to the staon (at about 10 cm
/ 4 inches).
5. The Staon will recognize the module. The setup is done. Now you can place the Wind Gauge
up to 100m away from the main Staon, nd below some ps on how to nd the best spot.
The Wind Gauge should be placed at the highest point possible in order to get reliable measures and
avoid turbulences created by obstacles surrounding it. It is recommended to place it about 1 m / 4 .
above the top of your roof.
The Wind Gauge should be placed horizontally and the arrow (there’s one at on the top and one in
the boom) must be poinng to the North. You can use your smartphone's compass app to check
that when you install your Wind Gauge at home.
To secure the Wind Gauge, you may use a ¼ inches standard camera mounng screw.

Wind measurement
Wind speed and direcon are measured using four ultrasonic transducers. The Wind Gauge measures
the me between the moment a signal is emied and the moment it is received, along two
perpendicular direcons. Wind speed along the N-S axis and W-E axis are then merged using
trigonometric funcons to obtain the real speed and the direcon.
Displayed measures
Your dashboard displays:
- Last 5 minutes average wind speed and direcon. The arrow indicates the wind direcon and its size
is proporonal to the speed. Light grey dashes around the arrow indicate the dominant wind
direcons during the last hour.
An arrow poinng down means that the wind is blowing from the North (N = 0°). An arrow poinng
to the le means that the wind is blowing from the East (E = 90°).
- Maximum wind gust (speed and direcon) over the last 10 minutes.
- Maximum wind gust (speed and direcon) during the day (since last midnight).
Graphs let you navigate through historic average wind (speed and direcon) and gusts (speed and
direcon).
