Thank you for purchasing a Taylor® digital kitchen scale. Your Taylor® scale is an example of superior
design and crasmanship. Please read this instrucon manual carefully before use. Keep these
instrucons handy for future reference.
Baery Informaon
This scale operates on 1 3 volt CR2032 lithium battery (installed). There is a strip under the lithium –
baery cover to prevent baery drain in shipping. Please remove the strip before connuing with these
instrucons (you may need to remove the baery compartment cover to avoid breaking the strip). Also,
some models have a stac cling label on the lens to prevent scratching. Please remove before use.
Replace the baery when the Low Baery warning “L ” appears on the display, or the readings grow O
dim or irregular. To replace the battery:
1. Use one 3 volt CR2032 lithium baery.
2. Remove screw (or screws) from the battery compartment cover on the boom of the scale and
remove the cover. Take care when removing and replacing the baery door screw. Do not turn the
screw in the wrong direcon or over ghten it as this may strip the screw threads in the plasc battery
door.
3. Remove the old baery from the compartment.
4. Place the new baery with the “+” sign up into the baery compartment.
5. Replace the baery compartment cover and screw(s).
NOTE: Please recycle or dispose of batteries per local regulaons.
WARNING: Baeries may pose a choking hazard. As with all small items, do not let children handle
baeries. If swallowed, seek medical aenon immediately.
PRECAUTION: Do not dispose of baeries in re. Baeries may explode or leak. Remove the battery if
the scale will not be used for a long period of me.
General Weighing Operaon
1. Place the scale on a hard, level surface.
2. Press the “ ” buon to turn the scale on. The display will turn on and show zero when it is ready for
use. If the display does not show zero, press the “tare” buon. The scale will reset (tare) to zero.
3. Your scale weighs in ounces (oz), pounds/ounces (lb oz), grams (g) and kilograms (kg). Press the
buon on the boom of the scale to change the units of measurement.
4. Place the item to be weighed on the center of the plaorm. The weight will display. As you add
weight, the weight displayed increases.
5. The scale will turn o automacally within 3 minutes of non-use or if there is no change in weight. To
turn the scale o manually, press and hold the “ ” buon unl the scale turns o.
